I apologize for all the poetry lately. There's only a few more pieces and then I'll be back to prose. Don't worry!
I want to cry
I want to scream
I want to die
I want to dream
When I look upon you
I want to see you play
Where did your playfulness go?
Why do your toys gather dust?
I want to cry
I want to scream
I want to die
I want to dream
When I look upon you
I want to see you smile
Where did your smile go?
Why is your face a mask?
I want to cry
I want to scream
I want to die
I want to dream
When I look upon you
I want to see you dance
Where did the music go?
Why do your feet lie still upon the floor?
I want to cry
I want to scream
I want to die
I want to dream
When I look upon you
I want to see you laugh
Where did your laughter go?
Why does nothing bring a sparkle to your eyes?
I want to cry
I want to scream
I want to die
I want to dream
When I look upon you
I want to see you love
Where did your hugs go?
Why does nothing stir your heart?
I want to cry
I want to scream
I want to die
I want to dream
I want to be your mother
But I just can’t do it
So I write this for you
As I say goodbye
I do cry
I do scream
I will die
I cannot dream anymore
Goodbye,
My son
